Alexandria Police Youth Camp Holds Annual Christmas Tree Sale
Sale begins in Old Town on Nov. 28.
Looking for that perfect tree this holiday season? The Alexandria Police Youth Camp will hold its annual Christmas tree sale beginning Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The sale is located at 110 Callahan Drive, directly across from the George Washington Masonic Memorial. The youth camp, which began in 1947, uses the event to raise funds and send underprivileged children to the APYC camp in Kilmarnock, Va.
The tree sale is the group’s largest yearly fundraiser. Each year, the APYC brings in several hundred trees from West Virginia to Alexandria, and the sale has become a tradition for many local residents.
Also, half of the purchase price is tax-deductible.
The sale will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last day will be Friday, Dec. 21.
Alexandrians can visit www.AlexPYC.org for more information or to make a financial donation to help the cause.

As the former president of the Alexandria Police Camp Foundation, I can tell you that this is a very important fund raiser for the camp. There is a lot of maintenance needing to be done every year before opening and a lot of supplies needed. For many of the campers, this is their only week of summer vacation. Please help.

I was both a camper and a counselor at this wonderful camp. I hope everyone reading this will buy their tree here.
