Alexandria to Host Summer Restaurant Week in August

Special prices at participating restaurants Aug. 19-28

Sixty-two restaurants are participating in Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week to be held Aug. 19-28.

Participating restaurants throughout the city will feature a $35 prix-fixe three-course dinner or $35 dinner for two.

Restaurant Week menus and online reservations are available on VisitAlexandriaVA.com. Diners can enjoy the fare at La Bergerie, A la Lucia, Tempo, Cheesetique, Jackson 20, Grape + Bean and many other fine dining and casual dining options.

The 10-day event is the second time Alexandria Restaurant Week has been offered in the summer. Alexandria Restaurant Week was launched in 2009 and is coordinated by the Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association. The event is free for participating restaurants.

Some serious hubris for some of these places to be offering a $35 prix-fixe any day of the week much less restaurant week; why not offer the $35 dinner for two instead?

It is also unfortunate that the better restaurants in OT do not participate.

DC Restaurant Week offers both a $20.11 lunch and $35.11 three-course prix-fixe option although some of the sites only opt to offer lunch or dinner only.
