While it is a crime to murder anyone, it seems especially heinous to murder someone who spent so much of his adult life giving back to the community and working on the behalf of its citizens. Try him in Virginia!

I know it is with well intentions when anyone voices "The family can now have closure". The sad truth is there is no closure when a loved one has been murdered. What is of help to some but surely not all is to allow the family to share their stories to give life again to the memories and in time they will become sweet again. To the family; I send you well wishes for the future ahead.

It appears the shooting took place in Maryland. I don't know about the rest of the timeline, such as whether Lenny was forced into his car at gunpoint in VA or went willingly to help an acquaintance, etc. It seems that because the actual shooting was in MD, the case will be tried there. If he was kidnapped in VA, there is an argument to be made that the perpetrators should be tried here, although kidnapping is a federal crime, not a state crime, so it could even go to a federal criminal court.

I got to know Lenny when he owned a store on Mt Vernon Ave. He was a hard working person who loved his family. He treated all people with respect and had a wonderful way of communicating with all people. He devoted a lot of time helping people less fortunate than himself, this is a sad day for our community, he will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very difficult time. Rest in Peace Lenny.

Mark West, I knew Lenny in 7th and 8th grade school at Minnie Howard Middle school. He was always so charasmatic and popular. I shared class with him and remember him at a time when it was'nt common for black's and white's to be friendly towards one another. But it seamed to me that Lenny was able to transend that barrier and let love overcome the pressures that other people and society might cause you to believe. A man who believed in what was right and good for himself and to make better the world around him. May his example be remembered by those who knew him. "May God rest your soul Lenny" And let shame follow those men who stole this precious Man's life from his family and from the world.

I met Lenny, when i was dealing with leaving an abusive man and trying to get my life back..He .always had a way of say things that inspired me and his wife as well.He was a good man and will be missed by many, so many will miss him.I keep up with his story and prayed that those responsible will be found and held accountable and im sure there could be others if not the two should be charged out here in Va...and if not all-- are apprehended.. well the power of prayer is real and they wont and cant hide for long either...VENGES IS THE LORD,I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SO...
it saddens me how people treat one another, and the trust you can have in another and then they harm you this way..sickens me... IT SADDENS ME...
Prayers to Lenny's Family and many will miss him, we will miss him...Thanks Lenny and God bless your soul..RIP
