UPDATE: La Strada in Del Ray Wins 'Best Italian Restaurant in Alexandria' Poll
Faccia Luna and Monroe's come in second and third place.
UPDATE: Congratulations to La Strada in Del Ray for winning the Best of Alexandria Patch poll this week in the "Best Italian Restaurant" category!
Voting by Patch readers began on Monday and Del Ray's La Strada saw 46 votes by the time the poll closed Friday at 9 a.m. Faccia Luna came in second place in the poll, with 32 votes, followed by Monroe's with 30 votes.
The winner will get a framed "Best of Alexandria" certificate from Patch, plus bragging rights.
Stay tuned for our next "Best of" poll coming up Monday—"Best Store for Children's Gifts." Voting will begin at 5 a.m.

can't beat La Strada for authentic, delicious Italian (although, I am a fiercely loyal Faccia Luna patron as well!). and I thought that even before I moved in next door ;)

When La Strada's owner forced us to use all of our gift certificate or forfeit the remaining $30-, they turned us off. Couldn't apply it toward the tip either. They're not high-end enough for two people to spend $150 in a single visit and be able to walk home. We would gladly have returned another time and would have spent even more than the remaining bit on the certificate. Now I doubt we'll ever go back and will preface a recommendation with our experience.
