“I’ve been training for many, many years now and haven’t always had a chance to participate in these things and that’s the fun part of it,” Lofgren said. “I’m talking with the kids there, and for many, it will be their first (erg) piece. If there are any words of wisdom I can offer to them to make it less painful, or convince them it will be less painful, I’ll be there."

Lofgren this weekend will be joined by Linda Miller, 2000 Olympian and T.C. Williams alum; Lisa Schlenker, 2000 and 2004 Olympian, and current head women’s lightweight coach at the University of Wisconsin; Giuseppe Lanzone, 2012 and 2008 Olympian and lightweight men’s coach at Georgetown University; Sam Stitt, 2008 Olympian and lightweight men’s coach at Georgetown University; and Emma Preuschl, two-time Paralympian and 2008 silver medalist.

The group will be participating and answering questions for junior rowers in two seminars entitled "Going for Gold – Rowing in College and Beyond."

Lofgre told U.S. Rowing that she hopes to rejoin the U.S. National Team competing March 22-24 at World Rowing Cup I in Sydney, Australia.
