Update: Tiffany Tavern's owners tell Patch that they have decided to retire and have shut the tavern after 33 years in business.

Tiffany Tavern appears to have closed its doors, according to its Facebook fans.

The bar, known for its burgers, bluegrass and open mike nights, has been in business for 30 years.

The tavern’s Facebook page advertises open mike March 17, but recent posts by fans say:

“Sad news today. Tiffany Tavern in Alexandria VA has closed.”

“So sorry to hear tha the Tiffany Tavern is closed. Nancy and Ted, the Tiff, have been at the heart of Old Town, the heart of bluegrass music, the heart of live entertainment for years. City Farm band will miss being with you all on our regular gigs there at the TT." 

‘Love you Tiffany Tavern. Please don’t go!"
