Cathal Armstrong has been nominated seven times for the James Beard Foundation award.

Will local chef celebrity Cathal Armstrong finally have the luck of the Irish when it comes to the James Beard Foundation awards?

Armstrong, chef and co-owner of restaurants such as Restaurant Eve, Society Fair, the Majestic and other local favorites, is once again up for “Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic,” which includes chef competition from DC, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as Virginia. The award specifically mentions Armstrong for best chef, Restaurant Eve.

The Washington Post said he “has many more nominations to go before he becomes the Susan Lucci of James Beard Foundation awards” before noting this is his 7th nomination.
