Nando’s Peri-Peri is slated to open a new restaurant on King Street next week.
The Afro-Portuguese restaurant is inviting Alexandrians to stop by for a complimentary meal during its grand opening at 702 King on Monday from noon to 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 7:45 p.m.
In order to attend, customers must email RSVP@Mackenzie-pr.com to make a reservation for up to four people.
Reservations are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“We found ourselves originally drawn to the international presence in Washington, D.C., and naturally, we could not help but be attracted to Old Town, Alexandria for its unique charm, thriving restaurant scene and active nightlife,” said the international restaurant chain's United States CEO Burton Heiss. “Our new location at Old Town will be our most contemporary U.S. restaurant to date. The building’s historic façade contains an edgy interior with cool metallic sculptures suspended from the ceiling.”
Nando’s Peri-Peri also is offering its Old Town customers the chance to enter to win two round-trip tickets to South Africa, where the first Nando’s opened outside of Johannesburg in 1987.

Didn't you read the notes from P & Z on the open-ended OT Theater application that put Clarendon-aping as a top goal regardless of Old Town's history and other practical logistics like the adjacent neighborhoods?
