Update: Anne Welsh Salon Wins ‘Favorite Hair Salon'

Sugar House Day Spa & Salon finishes second.

 

Update: Congratulations to Anne Welsh Salon in Del Ray for taking home 38 votes to win the Readers’ Choice award for Best Hair Salon in Alexandria.

The salon will get a framed “Readers’ Choice” certificate from Patch, plus bragging rights.

In Old Town, the winning salon was Sugar House Day Spa & Salon with 11 votes.

Angelo (of Studio pH 4.5) is the best colorist in Old Town, and he always gives you a cut that's flattering for your face and style!!! Love him! His new location is adorable, too!

You left out PR at Partners - I dont even go to PRatP (I go to bang salon in DC), but considering the popularity and prestige of the brand, even I noticed that glaring omission!!

For a men's haircut in the neighborhood, you can't beat leaving the car at home and walking over to Mt. Vernon Ave's 'Del Ray Beauty Salon and Spa'. The place has a great neighborhood friendliness to it. Ignacio knows and remembers his customers when they walk through the door, and patrons walking by on the sidewalk wave 'hello' through the big windows. Prices are within reason and I've always been happy with the outcome. They also have women's stylists.

Thanks for your suggestions. I added PR at Partners. Barbershops and hair salons specifically for men were not included this time around, but we'll do a poll on that in the future.

I vote for Lorraine Aprile. Always good service and reasonably priced. I go to Angela there but I've seen others when Angela was not available and always had good cuts and service. Plus, they give back to the community. Owner Lorraine donates to local causes and shows up! Plus, they hire high school girls as apprentices.
