Police Make Arrest in TD Bank Robbery

No word if the suspect, Earnest Hanible, is linked to another similar Alexandria bank robbery.

Alexandria police announced the arrest of Earnest Hanible Tuesday in connection with the May 22 robbery of the TD Bank located at 119 S. Washington St.

Hanible, a 41-year-old city resident, has been charged with robbery, according to a short press release from the Alexandria Police Department.

At around 4:30 p.m. May 22, a man entered the TD Bank and handed the teller a note saying he had a weapon and demanded money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank, police said. There were no injuries.

Police offered no description of the suspect.

A man robbed the SunTrust Bank in the Alexandria Commons shopping center in a similar manner on May 21.

Police did not say if Hanible is linked to that robbery.
