Santa took public transportation on Saturday, hopping aboard the King Street Trolley.

Alexandria Transit Company, or DASH, welcomed Santa aboard the trolley as he took pictures with more than 300 children, families and pets.

All children received a special gift from Santa and treats from DASH and the King Street Trolley.

Among some of Santa’s visitors were the Alexandria City Council, and Jay Palermino with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.

The free King Street Trolley operates daily, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 11:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. every 15 minutes from the King Street Metro Station to the Potomac River waterfront.
