Police Make Second Arrest in Connection to Rosemont Burglaries
Alexandria resident Bitaywork Debebe arrested and charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
Alexandria resident Bitaywork Debebe was arrested around noon Thursday in connection with recent burglaries in the Rosemont area.
The Alexandria Police Department executed a search warrant in the 800 block of Pendleton Street and arrested and charged Debebe, 25, with one count of receiving stolen property. Police said additional charges may be forthcoming.
The investigation into the recent string of Rosemont burglaries is ongoing.
Earlier this week, the APD arrested Alexandria resident Vincent Edward Evans in connection to two burglaries—one in the 300 block of W. Masonic View Avenue and another in the 100 block of E. Linden Street.

So that is why there is police tape up around the market on the 800 block of Pendleton St. Here's the video: http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/08/alexandria-burglary-suspects-arrested-78659.html
This place has been a nuisance since it opened up. Mostly it's been loitering and littering. But it's also intimidation as you walk by, even on the other side of the street. I really hope this place closes for good and the red brick house at the corner is also vacated. Has anyone noticed the toilet and bathroom sink on the front porch for the past couple of weeks?

I live less than 350 feet from that store and when the store opened, I REALLY wanted it to succeed/be legit. I went in to check out the wares and they had "organic" products, which were three to four times higher than the organic products that could be found around the corner at Trader Joe's (i.e. milk, cheeses). How does one expect to become profitable with that business model, unless there's something less above-board going on? Sadly never stepped foot in there again. Looks like I won't have the opportunity to, either!

I'm glad that you found your way to this site. But the fact that you're only two comments are related to this store and me I will have to consider yourself an internet troll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet) at this point. You're spewing the hate that you're so falsely stating you are are against.
I've made my feelings about the store clear in my comment on the other article. I'm not going to dignify this latest comment of yours by repeating myself.

Why say "Thank you God bless?" Just cuz you go to church on Sunday doesn't give you the right to dismiss and belittle someone who has a well thought out and informed comment. Giving it up to God on Sunday, doesn't mean you can hate and shout people down mon-sat.
Read what Doug said, his concerns are about safety, which is valid and the crime coming from the store, which is fact. And yeah I've been in the store recently, they don't have groceries but they certainly do let you "carry" things out.
Listen, people don't typically get arrested, not once but, ummmm, twice in a month when they're good people. It's a nice argument though, I'm sure it makes you feel warm and fuzzy at night. It's kinda like having a 3rd scotch, it's tastes great going down but you really feel like ish the next day.
The problem with the store isn't about you Mat, but you are certainly part of the problem. There are too many people defending the actions of criminals bc they either know, benefit or are content to acquiesce and let something stay b/c it has a "permit" or long cheap lease or fear of retribution instead of bucking up and thinking about what's best for the community.
Mat, I'd tell you to keep your comments to yourself, but I'm sure you'd just take it personally. I'll just simply say educate yourself to the situation. People don't dislike the store simply bc of owners. It's their actions that define them, and brother they're just plain bad...
