The long awaited Douglas Fryer solo exhibition opens December 7th!

Working in a range of subjects, Fryer carries his atmospheric elan across the board - landscape, figure, and still life. Rather than relying on aesthetics alone, Douglas Fryer aims to paint the mood and energy of a scene. Creating a beautiful landscape is secondary to communicating with the viewer on an emotional and visceral level.

The terrain of Fryer's home state of Utah regularly graces his paintings. Regardless of the chosen subject, Douglas seems to capture an aura, an ambient calm reflecting space even if the brush or knife work is energetic.
