2nd Thursday Art Night: Alive with History
Take a journey back in time with the Torpedo Factory as you browse open studios, interact with artists, and enjoy refreshments and live music by Wytold Lebing at this free monthly event!
A Journey through HistoryCheck out a display of photographs taken when our building was an actual torpedo factory and view a timeline of the factory’s transition into the art center that it is today.
Artist of the Year Reception
Visit Target Gallery from 6-8pm for the reception for Susan Makara: Masks. Makara is this year’s winner of the Friends of the Torpedo Factory’s Artist of the Year competition, recognizing a Torpedo Factory artist for outstanding achievement in art. Guests are invited to wear masks to the reception.
The Art League Gallery Reception
From 6:30-8pm, The Art League Gallery presents the reception for Cecily Corcoran’s solo show, Genius Loci, and the All-Media Membership Exhibit.
Peace Paper Project
As part of the Torpedo Factory’s outreach program, the art center will display work by survivors of trauma and veterans, created during a workshop led by the Peace Paper Project. View the artwork in Site 2 and 3 Galleries during the reception from 6-8pm. Peace Paper Project representatives will be available to talk about the project.
DIY Mask Making
In honor of Target Gallery’s Masks exhibit, create your own mask at our Do-It-Yourself Mask Making Station. Wear your creation to the Masks reception if you forget to bring one of your own!
About 2nd Thursday Art Night: 2nd Thursday Art Night is a free monthly event held on the second Thursday of each month at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Visitors are invited to browse open studios, interact with artists, and enjoy refreshments while taking part in special monthly programming and activities.

More About Torpedo Factory
In addition to housing six art galleries, the Torpedo Factory on N. Union St. provides studio space to about 150 artists, from jewelers to sculptors to photographers. The space holds events from live music to kid-friendly gallery tours.
