I went to the North Royal Street site at lunch today hoping to cast my ballot, and was told there is no "early voting" in Virginia, only absentee voting. Could someone clarify?
Thanks!

Hi Neal. Thanks for your comment. Virginia is a state that does not offer "early voting," which would allow you to vote at a local election office (or satellite office) prior to Election Day without having to give a reason why you are unable to vote on Election Day. All states offer absentee voting. If you qualify for absentee voting, you should be able to fill out an absentee ballot at Royal St. I spoke with Anna Leider, the city's deputy registrar, and she said you are welcome to call her at 703-746-4050 for assistance. The deadline for in-person absentee voting is Nov. 3, 5 p.m.
