71st Annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour & Artisan Show
Six homes built in the 18th and 19th centuries and rich in the early history of Alexandria will be featured September 29 in the Historic Alexandria Homes Tour, sponsored by The Twig, the junior auxiliary of Inova Alexandria Hospital.
Tickets for the tour may be purchased in advance for $35 three ways: online via the Twig’s website, www.thetwig.org, at The Twig’s Thrift Shop, 106 N. Columbus Street, Alexandria, or at the Ramsay House Visitor’s Center, 221 King Street.
Tickets are $40 the day of the tour (Sept. 29) and may be purchased online, at the Thrift Shop, at the Ramsay House, and at the Homes Tour Marketplace at St. Paul’s Church, 228 S. Pitt Street, or any of the homes on the tour. Homeowner names and addresses will not be public until the day of the tour.
Tour booklets will be available the day of the tour at all ticket sales locations and at each of the tour homes.
Ticket sales from the Homes Tour will benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital. Specifically, proceeds will go toward the Twig Surgical Center, a new addition featuring 24 private patient rooms for post-surgical care.
A raffle will also be conducted in conjunction with the Homes Tour. Individuals may purchase raffle tickets at the same locations as tour tickets. Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $20. Grand prize is a five-course dinner for two at Restaurant Eve’s Tasting Room; second prize is a date night dinner for two at Society fair; and third prize is coffee and a treat from Society Fair.
A Marketplace is also part of this year’s tour. Jewelry, gifts, home décor and artwork will be for sale between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 228 S. Pitt Street, Alexandria.
The Twig is a non-profit organization of more than 100 women who provide volunteer services, financial aid and who purchase equipment for Inova Alexandria Hospital. The organization was founded in the 1930s.
