DESCRIPTION:September 8-30Site 2 &amp\; 3 Galleries\nSynergy is an exhibi
 tion featuring work from the Torpedo Factory Artist Association's 2012 V
 isiting Artist Program. Completing its third year since it began in 2010
 \, the Visiting Artist Program invites artists both emerging and experie
 nced from around the nation to become a part of Torpedo Factory's art-ma
 king community by offering one\, two\, and three month residencies.\nSyn
 ergy stems from the cohesive objective expressed by the visiting artists
  to fill their time at the Torpedo Factory Art Center (TFAC) with new au
 dience exposure\, fresh inspiration from within the TFAC\, and abroad\, 
 and productive studio time that\, in totality\, amounts to an influentia
 l and wholesome experience. Conversely\, their synergy translates into q
 uite diverse works that ranges from stop motion animations to meticulous
 ly detailed drawings. The exhibition Synergy is centered on this aspect 
 and displays artwork created by each artist during residency.\n2012 Visi

 is exhibition is part of the Torpedo Factory&rsquo\;s Art in Public Spac
 es (APS) program\, which serves as the community outreach arm for the To
 rpedo Factory Art Center (TFAC) by providing rotating exhibition and edu
 cational program opportunities. APS does this by utilizing the public sp
 ace on all three floors of the art center. They work with DC-metro area 
 organizations in an effort to reach out to new and neglected groups\, ex
 panding the diversity of the audience to the TFAC. The Target Gallery\,
