Try Transit Week — Stop by the Alexandria Transit Store (near the corner of Duke Street and Diagonal Road) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily for free giveaways all week. On Tuesday, those who take the train or DASH bus into the store can enter for a chance to win a free DASH pass and receive a free 2GB flash drive all day. Changes at Restaurant Eve — Executive Chef and co-owner Cathal Armstrong announced Monday in The Washington Post that, beginning Oct. 21, the top-flight restaurant will ditch its bar-bistro-tasting room format and become one formal, 90-seat dining stop. Mother Goose Time — Stop by Barrett Library (717 Queen St.) at 10:15 a.m. for songs, rhymes, games and other interactive fun for toddlers. No registration required. Activities are aimed for children age 12-23 months.
