Let's put the men back in mentoring!

Build bookshelves, construct chests, and make a difference in the life of a child. SOHO makes it easy to mentor! Each week, mentors and fifth-grade boys meet at the Alexandria Seaport Foundation to enjoy dinner and work on a carpentry project. By providing a listening ear and keeping an open mind, mentors help boys develop the confidence and leadership skills needed to be successful. Carpentry instruction is provided by the Alexandria Seaport Foundation and no experience is necessary. Boys also receive instruction in developing leadership skills, forming healthy relationships, and avoiding peer pressure.
