Transurban Announces Christian Deschauer as Government Relations Director

Transurban, toll road investor and developer and operator of the 95 and 495 Express Lanes, is pleased to welcome Christian Deschauer as Government Relations Director.  As the director of government relations, Deschauer will serve as Transurban’s primary relationship manager with officials at the local, state and federal levels and will be tasked with supporting the officials, as necessary, to meet constituent needs.  In addition, Deschauer will act as Transurban’s representative in engaging with key stakeholders and community and business leaders. 

“We are excited to welcome Christian to Transurban and believe his skills and experience will help further transportation improvements in Virginia,” said Jennifer Aument, group general manager, North America, Transurban.  “We are confident that Christian will be a valuable member of our team as we continue to partner with Virginia to deliver faster, more reliable transportations options to Northern Virginia drivers.”

Deschauer has more than eight years of experience in the political arena in the fields of government relations, legislative issues and community outreach.  Most recently, Deschauer served as Vice President of Government Relations for the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the largest chamber of commerce in Northern Virginia.  Prior to his work with the Fairfax County Chamber, Deschauer served as the Senior Legislative Aide to Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity.  Additionally, Deschauer held numerous positions for Congressman Tom Davis as a staff assistant and community outreach representative.

Deschauer received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from The Pennsylvania State University and his master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University.
