ACVA Says Farewell to Merrie Morris

ACVA director of public affairs is stepping away after 13 years on the job.

The Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association said farewell to Merrie Morris on Thursday with a reception at the Athenaeum.

Morris, the director of public affairs at ACVA for 13 years, is moving to Kansas City to open a small business with her husband Alan.

ACVA President and CEO Patricia Washington, Board Chairman Jody Manor and Alexandria Vice Mayor Allison Silberberg all lauded Morris for her dedication and service to Alexandria’s tourism bureau and said her institutional knowledge will be sorely missed.
