Chinquapin Recreation Center to Reopen in November
To celebrate reopening, rec center will waive admission on Nov. 2.
Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, closed since June 17 for HVAC repairs, will reopen at 6 a.m. Nov. 1.
To celebrate the reopening, Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will open the rec center for free admission from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2. All ages are welcome.
Patrons will have free use of the center’s indoor pool, racquetball courts, fitness room as well as its popular soft play room. Additional free festivities include scuba, kayak and water exercise class demonstrations, swim lesson skill assessments and light refreshments.

Other improvements to the rec center included locker room upgrades, play material enhancements and regular maintenance.
