Christ Church Offers Blessing of the Pets
Blessing of the Pets will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Historic Christ Church in Old Town will offer its annual Blessing of the Pets on Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
Animals of all shapes and sizes are welcome at the blessing, which is held in honor of St. Francis.
There will be special prayers for pets who have died and their retired collars, leashes and photos may be brought for blessing.

During the event, the church will accept donations for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria as well as towels, blankets and comforters for animals housed at the shelter.
