  • What’s the deal? Music at Twilight Concert: The Bobcats (Rock & Roll)
  • When: Thursday,  July 14, 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Fort Ward Park Amphitheater, 4301 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria
  • Cost: Free!
  • Details: Music at Twilight Concert Series

 

  • What’s the deal? 8th Annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival: Avatar and Mamma Mia!
  • When: At dusk on Friday, July 15: Avatar and Saturday, 16: Mamma Mia!
  • Where: Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St., Alexandria
  • Cost: Free!
  • Details:  Popcorn, homemade lemonade and other food items available for sale. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. Coolers and outside food items welcome. Free King Street Trolley will operate between the waterfront and the King Street Metro until midnight. In the event of inclement weather, call 703-746-5592.

  • What’s the deal? 2nd Annual Christmas in July Celebration
  • When: July 15 - 17
  • Where: Union Street between Cameron & Duke streets, Alexandria
  • Details: Approximately 15 retailers and community organizations will host a variety of festive activities either inside stores or on Union Street. The weekend will be filled with activities, raffle drawings, shopping/ dining deals and holiday delights for all ages, including pictures with “Summer” Santa & Mrs. Claus, historical tours, holiday trunk shows, food and wine tastings, cookie decorating, storytime for tots, ornament making, arts & crafts, ice cream, paint your own nutcracker, green holiday home tips, fashion styling, pooch pictures, musical entertainment and more.

  • When: Saturday, July 16 at dusk, but be on the fields of Mount Vernon Recreation Center by 7 p.m.
  • Cost: Free!
  • Details: Presented by Del Ray Cinema. Sponsored by Jen Walker of McEnearney Associates.

    The Outdoor Film Festival is cosponsored by the City of Alexandria and Comcast. Proceeds will benefit a local nonprofit.
