King Street: Let It Reign
A healthy crowd turned out for the city's award for King Street's designation as a 'great street' this week.
The American Planning Association awarded the City of Alexandria's King Street as one of 10 Great Streets for 2011 under the Great Places in America program.
The group chose King Street in part because of its role as a hub of activity where people gather to celebrate, dine, conduct business, explore the past or view the waterfront.
