Obama Family Dines at Union Street Public House

Michelle Obama and her daughter Malia and friend were seen at the restaurant on Friday afternoon

Editor's Note: We have updated this article to correct that Sasha was not dining with her mom, but Malia brought along a friend.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were reportedly having lunch Friday at the Union Street Public House, as was confirmed by the restaurant.  The news of this unexpected lunch visit to Old Town brought a small ferver to Union Street.

Onlookers consisting of a mix of tourists, locals and press all gathered outside the restaurant once news spread that the president was to have lunch in Old Town.  The security presence of the Secret Service outside the pub included a number of black SUVs along with members of the service posted along the entire block.

While the president and vice president didn't exit through the front, the first lady, Michelle Obama, and her daughter Malia with a friend made a quick appearance exiting through the front with their security detail.  In less than 15 seconds, the family were out the door, in the car and down the block.

I wish I would have known! I was right down the street.

How embarrassing for OT - couldn't they have picked a better restaurant? That place is such a joke.

Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden did NOT dine. Easy clue is that there were no dogs sweeping the street, or otherwise present at all. Also large trucks were allowed up and down the street. SS allowed people inside the restaurant with a quick handheld metal detector screening. The girls likely took a class field trip as the SS loaded up ~8 bicycles into the government van prior to Mrs. Obama's arrival. Come on patch!

Not to mention, the girl in the third and fourth pictures is NOT Sasha.

Thanks for your comments on the Obama family photo gallery. I think they might have brought a friend along, and you're right—that's not Sasha in the photos.
