Second Thursday Art Night: Dancing in the Streets

Let the summer night move you to the Torpedo Factory for this free event featuring show receptions in The Art League Gallery and Target Gallery with a special performance by Karen Reedy Dance. Meet June’s Visiting Artists as you browse open studios and enjoy refreshments!

Target Gallery Reception
Visit Target Gallery from 6-8pm for the reception for In The Flesh 3, an all-media exhibition examining contemporary figurative art. At 7pm, hear a gallery talk by the show’s juror, Dr. Jamie Smith.

Karen Reedy Dance Performance
At 8pm, Karen Reedy Dance will explore the physical body and highlight the human condition through a rich movement language of gesture and raw physicality, inspired by Target Gallery’s exhibition, In The Flesh 3.

The Art League Gallery Reception
From 6:30-8pm, The Art League Gallery hosts the reception for Emancipation & Freedom and The Gravitational Pull of Memory, printmaker Ann Zahn’s solo show.

Visiting Artist Scavenger Hunt
Go on a scavenger hunt to find work by the Torpedo Factory’s June 2011 Visiting Artists. The Torpedo Factory’s annual Visiting Artist Program, taking place June through August, provides studio space for emerging and experienced artists from across the country, and exposes visitors to exciting artists and projects.
