Papier-mache, traveling sketchbooks and a string quartet are just a few of the attractions at the Torpedo Factory’s Arts Activated.
The event takes place during the King Street Art Festival, Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m.
Husband and wife team Steven and Sara Peterman are driving a mobile library from Brooklyn, N.Y., to showcase the Sketchbook Project, a selection of 4,500 sketchbooks from their permanent collection, at the Torpedo Factory.
From noon to 4 p.m., the public is invited to join Torpedo Factory artist Lisa Schumaier in creating capgrosses, which are oversized papier-mache heads generally made for parades and community celebrations.
At 2 p.m. during the festival, the Torpedo Factory will host the U.S. Army String Quartet, which will perform works by American composters.
