Austin Grill & Tequila Bar Eyeing Late March Opening

Job fair for positions at the restaurant set for Wednesday through Saturday at Holiday Inn.

The Old Town Alexandria Austin Grill & Tequila Bar is hoping to re-open in late March, after renovations, according to management. The restaurant closed its doors for its new look back in December.

The restaurant and bar is holding a job fair Wednesday through Saturday at the Alexandria Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, located next to the Giant Foods and VA ABC Store, 625 First Street Alexandria, VA 22314.

The Hiring Center will be open Wednesday to Saturday. Hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 3-7 p.m.; Friday, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The restaurant and bar is looking for servers, bartenders, host, line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers and bussers. See the full craigslist job ad here.

In September, Alexandria’s Board of Architectural Review for the Old and Historic District approved the installation of new signage, wall-mounted exterior lights and new blue canvas awnings for the Tex-Mex grill.

The remodeling also includes exterior painting. Interior work is already underway at the restaurant, located at 801 King St.

Austin Grill will reopen with not only a new look but also a new menu, according to Eater:

“The restaurant's new look will feature wood tones, more dramatic lighting, a graffiti-inspired mural, tequila bottle chandeliers and a bigger bar with a tequila tower. The menu will change as well, with new additions like a jambalaya, new cocktails (with new glassware to serve them in) and a more frequently updated drinks menu. The changes come just in time for the restaurant's 25th anniversary.”

Austin Grill has three other locations in the DC region, including Springfield, Va., Silver Spring, Md., and in the District’s Penn Quarter.
