Blue Mercury Brings Its Beauty and Spa Secrets to Old Town

One of the nation's largest luxury beauty products and spa retail chains, which got its start years ago in Georgetown, is coming to King Street.

Blue Mercury, a luxury beauty products and spa retail chain, is coming to Old Town Alexandria.

The chain, which opened its first store in 1999 in nearby Georgetown, was founded by Marla Beck and her husband, entrepreneur Barry Jon Beck. They currently live in Bethesda, Md.

The store is moving into the space recently vacated by the bankrupt Ritz Camera at 600 King St.

Blue Mercury also has stores in Clarendon, three locations in Washington, D.C., and two locations in Bethesda, among many other locations across the country.

The shop will be the newest kid on the 600 block of King Street, joining recent addition Anthropologie and the upcoming H&M.
