Fashion’s Night Out Alexandria

The Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association (ACVA) today announced its participation in the unprecedented global retail initiativeFashion’s Night Out (FNO).  Fashion’s Night Out is a global initiative created to celebrate fashion, culture, lifestyle, restore consumer confidence, and boost the retail industry’s economy.  Fashion’s Night Out started in 2009 as an idea of Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and became a collaboration between the magazine, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the City of New York.  In 2011, FNO was celebrated in 18 countries with more than 4,500 events in the U.S. alone, including designer appearances, restaurant specials, retail happenings and other special events.

Alexandria is known for its historic ambiance and contemporary flair offering an extraordinary collection of local, independent retailers. Shoppers can take part and enjoy this signature evening kicking off the fall shopping season.  Businesses throughout the City will host and feature exciting events from cocktails, restaurant specials, music, fashion shows, trunk shows and exclusive style events.

“Alexandria Fashion’s Night Out celebrates the entrepreneurial, independent spirit that thrives here,” said Stephanie Pace Brown, President & CEO of the Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association. “The city has become a stylish shopping destination for fashion, home décor, and culinary experiences.”
