Hank's Oyster Bar Set to Expand

Restaurant receives approval to move into building located next to its current location on King Street.

City Council has given the OK to expand its restaurant into the building next to its current location on King Street.

The city gave the restaurant permission to operate in November 2007 at 1026 King St. and now it plans to expand into 1024 King St.

The expansion consists primarily of 29 bar-style seats and service facilities on the first floor of the building with storage, refrigeration and office space in the basement. The restaurant will offer a total of 89 seats.

Hank's will continue to offer oysters and other seafood by table service, bar and via carryout.

The permit application says the additional area of the restaurant may contain televisions and "while live entertainment is not contemplated at this time, it may be in the future."
