If you're looking to beat the snow with some oysters and adult beverages on King Street, you're going to have to wait.

Hank’s had planned to reopen Monday, but work on its new seating area in 1024 King St. is taking longer than expected, according to the restaurant’s website. Previously, Hank’s has been housed exclusively at 1026 King St.

In June 2012, Alexandria City Council approved plans for the project, which consists primarily of 29 bar-style seats and service facilities on the first floor of the building with storage, refrigeration and office space in the basement. The restaurant will offer a total of 89 seats.

Hank's will continue to offer oysters and other seafood by table service, bar and via carryout.

The 2012 permit application said the additional area of the restaurant may contain televisions and "while live entertainment is not contemplated at this time, it may be in the future."

Hank’s is offering construction updates on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
