New Restaurants Participating in 2014 Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week

Look for loads of dining specials at more than 60 eateries in Alexandria between Aug. 15-24.

Got friends and family visiting this summer or just want to add a little oomph to your own staycation? Be sure to check out Alexandria’s Summer Restaurant Week, set for Aug. 15-24 throughout the city, offering $35 three-course meals or $35 dinners for two, according to VisitAlexandriaVA.com.

Seasoning this year’s lineup of more than 60 restaurants are six first-time participants including Vermilion, famous for serving President Obama and the first lady, BRABO by acclaimed chef Robert Wiedmaier, Waterfront Market, offering riverside dining, Evening Star Café and the new Kaizen Tavern in Del Ray, and Artfully Chocolate Bistro & Wine Bar in Carlyle.

Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week showcases the inventiveness of local chefs in neighborhoods throughout the city, including Old Town, Del Ray, Carlyle and the West End, at fine dining establishments and casual neighborhood favorites, highlighting the city’s bustling culinary scene.

Alexandria Restaurant Week was launched in 2009 by the Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association (ACVA) and has since been a favorite amongst patrons and restaurateurs, occurring biannually in the winter and summer.
