The South Carolina gallery carries work by more than 30 artists focusing on American and European Contemporary Realism.
"This is an exciting first step outside of the Washington, DC market, as Principle Gallery continues to explore and grow synergistic opportunities and relationships between artists and art patrons worldwide," Michele Ward, owner of Principle Gallery said in a press release. "The decision to acquire such a well-established and respected gallery was based on striking similarities between M Gallery and Principle Gallery—each enjoys a very strong connection with its community, and a commitment to the best in American and European Contemporary Realism."
Ward plans to incorporate some of Principle Gallery’s collections and events at the M Gallery. Ward said collectors familiar with the artists at Principle Gallery will be “very pleasantly surprised” by the art introduced through the acquisition of M Gallery.
Principle Gallery opened in Old Town in 1994 and maintains a focus on oil paintings and bronze sculpture. The gallery gains exposure for its artists through solo exhibitions, group shows and art fairs.
