Report: Gourmet Shop on King Street to Close Later This Month
Space on King Street will be for lease.
A gourmet shop on King Street, The Butcher's Block by RW, is set to close its doors later this month, according to Eater DC.
The shop, at 1600 King St., will close on Saturday, June 28, according to Eater DC's report; it featured fresh-baked breads, take-home meals, prepared foods, house-made sausages and pates, selected meats poultry and seafood, chocolates and more according to its Web site.
"Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in conjunction with Robert Wiedmaier, is committed to working with all current employees of The Butcher's Block to find other potential job opportunities within the company. Meanwhile, BRABO and The Tasting Room remain dedicated to serving the Old Town Alexandria community," the company said in a statement.
The space will be for lease, according to the Eater DC report.
Alexandria has other somewhat similar businesses, including Society Fair, Balducci's and coming soon at the other end of King Street, Carluccio's.
