State AG Cuccinelli to Address Eminent Domain at Boat Club

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will speak Thursday evening about the Nov. 6 ballot question with a George Mason law professor.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will be speaking Thursday evening at the Old Dominion Boat Club to discuss property rights in the state.

On Nov. 6, Virginia voters will vote on a constitutional amendment to limit the use of eminent domain by government entities.

George Mason University Law Professor Ilya Somin will join Cuccinelli at this free event, which is open to the public.

Alexandria has raised the specter of eminent domain over some land owned by the boat club, although city officials recently have said that is not an option they are pursuing.

The event is at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the boat club.
