Sur La Table Plans August Opening for King Street Store

Kitchen equipment retailer will offer food preparation classes at new Old Town store.

Sur La Table will open its new King Street location near City Hall in late August.

Building owners EastBanc and Jamestown announced this week the signing of a 10-year lease to bring Sur La Table to the nearly 6,000-square-foot storefront located at 326 King St.

The space formerly housed a CVS, which moved up the street to a larger space at 503 King St. in 2012. That spot was vacated by Books-a-Million.

Along with selling kitchenware and cookware accessories, Sur La Table will offer food preparation classes at the King Street location.

“Sur La Table will bring an established legacy of the culinary arts to King Street,” EastBanc Vice President Philippe Lanier said in a statement. “Their proven track record in delivering high-quality kitchenware and cooking instruction will complement Old Town’s highly-visited retail corridor of varied upscale shops and eateries.”
