The Kingsley Eyes Completion in Early 2014

North Old Town mixed-use project will include an on-site Harris Teeter.

The Kingsley, a new 51,500-square-foot, 175-unit apartment building located at 500 Madison St. in North Old Town, is expected to be completed in early 2014 with new units available in February.

An on-site Harris Teeter in the complex is expected to open in late summer or early fall 2014.

The complex will be pet-friendly with some breed and weight restrictions. The building will also include a fitness center, community room, rooftop terrace and bike shop and on-site bike storage.

Ground broke on the project in July 2012, with Mayor Bill Euille saying the mixed-use project will “enhance the quality life and uplift the lives of other people.”

Developers for the project are contributing $600,000 for affordable housing, enhancements to Montgomery Park that will be implemented soon, a new bus stop, public art and a Capital Bikeshare station, among other things.
