Why go: Shop for fashions at up to 80 percent off retail prices from local stores. Hard core shoppers line-up early for this annual event.
Price: Free admission. Parking is $4 all day at the Colonial Parking garage on Diagonal Road.

When: 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1
Why go: “Rock ‘n Roll is alive and well,” according to this oldies show band formerly known as “Harvey Hubcap and the Do Ron Ron.”

Where: Crystal Gateway Marriot, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway
When: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
Super Bowl XLVII
Where: At home, at a friend’s place or at one of Alexandria’s sports bars—your choice!
When: The game starts around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 Before the game, you can turn into the Animal Planet 2013 Puppy Bowl.
Why go: Most Super Bowl watchers fall into two camps: Football fans and people who are just interested in the commercials. Your choice!
