Wegmans Recalls Bagged Ice

Ice could contain metal fragments.

By Beth Lawton

Wegmans is recalling bags of ice that might have small metal pieces in them because of a broken piece in an ice-making machine.

The voluntary recall focuses on 7- and 18-pound bags of ice that were sold at Wegmans between Jan. 1 and June 10 this year.

The ice was sold at stores in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsyvania. The Virginia stores included those in Sterling, Fairfax, Lake Manassas, Fredericksburg, and Potomac.

The UPS on the 7-pound bag is 77890-29197. The code on the 18-pound bag is 77890-29200, according to a news release from Wegmans.
