Black History Museum, Magazine Host Renovation Seminar

The Build/Renovate Your Own Castle V interactive seminar will take place April 6.

The Alexandria Black History Museum and Port of Harlem magazine are hosting a Build/Renovate Your Own Castle V interactive seminar April 6.

The seminar takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

The event is for future and current home buyers, renters and homeowners. Speakers will include James Jordan, the principal architect at Millennium Design Architects, and Noel Shepherd, Citibank Home Lending Specialist.

Sherry Ways, an interior designer and author of “Feel Good Spaces: A Guide to Decorating for the Body, Mind & Spirit,” will end the seminar with an interior design “game.” Light refreshments will be provided, and door prizes will be awarded.

The Alexandria Black History Museum is located at 902 Wythe St., in Old Town Alexandria's Parker-Gray Historic District. The museum is five blocks from the Braddock Road Metro Station on the Yellow or Blue lines. Street parking is available.
