How to Recycle Your Holiday Tree in Alexandria

With visions of sugar plums a near distant memory, it's time to put the once grand Christmas tree on the curb.

But that tree can come back as mulch in the spring for Alexandria residents who place their former Christmas trees at the curb between Jan. 7 and Jan. 18.

The city asks that residents please remove any tree stands, lights and decorations from the tree before placing it at the curb.

Trees placed prior to Jan. 7 will be collected as regular refuse. For more information visit the city's website.
