Every Child Matters is pleased and proud to be holding a fundraising reception featuring former U.S. Senator George Mitchell.
Among other accomplishments, Sen. Mitchell led the Senate as Majority Leader during Bill Clinton’s presidency and was later appointed by him to serve as United States Special Envoy to Northern Ireland. His work there helped lead to a peace agreement that has held until this day. Further, his work in the Middle East created a framework for negotiations between the parties that remains operative to this day.
ECM’s non-partisan mission is to make children a national political and budgetary priority. We are also working on passing legislation to help end child abuse deaths in the United States. In addition, in 2013 we will also be working on mobilizing people who utilize child care services in under-served areas and who care about kids to vote in November’s statewide Virginia elections.
At a time when the nation is focusing on taxes, spending, jobs, growth and deficits, kids may be lost in the shuffle. They can't vote and they don't give donations; they need a voice. Your support will help give them one.
Suggested Donations: $5,000 Co-Chair - $1,000 Host Committee - $500 Sponsor - $250 Couples (2 Tickets) - $150 Friends.
