Suppers for Suffragists Dinner Event

Join the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association (TPSMA) at Coyote Grille on April 29, 2014 (all day!), as they host a Suppers for Suffragists fundraising event. Guests may visit either the Fairfax or Centreville location. A portion of the day's sales generated by the TPSMA will be donated by Coyote Grille.

In 1917, more than 70 women suffragists were imprisoned at the Occoquan Workhouse, then part of the Lorton Prison complex, for picketing at the White House for the right to vote. The reports of inhumane conditions, beatings and force-feedings at the workhouse electrified the country and became the "turning point" in the struggle for the 19th Amendment.

The TPSMA is a volunteer group dedicated to honoring the lives of these courageous women who fought for the right to vote. The TPSMA seeks to raise awareness and funds to build a memorial that reflects the strength of these women suffragists and the significance of their struggle. The memorial will be located at the Occoquan Regional Park (the site of the Occoquan Workhouse), and administered by the Northern Virginia Park Authority.

NOTE: Please print out this page or the attached flyer and provide a copy to your server on the day of the event.
