Go play! Help fill in data for a new playground mapping website.

On Saturday, May 31, The National Science Foundation and Code for America's Northern Virginia Brigade are teaming up to host a National Day of Civic Hacking. As part of the day's events, we're asking kids and their parents to test out Alexandria Plays, a new playground mapping website for Alexandria created by Project Play.

Project Play is an initiative of the Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network that brings local organizations and residents together to create more play opportunities in the City of Alexandria as one way to combat childhood obesity.

During the National Day of Civic Hacking, parents and kids can visit their nearest playground and then take a short survey to help fill in data for the new website. The link to the survey will be available online starting on Tuesday, May 27 but families are encouraged to fill out the survey on May 31 by 5:00pm, the National Day of Civic Hacking.
