Community Corner

The Fund for Alexandria's Child Fostering the Future Gala.

In Alexandria, usually about 100 children, from infancy to age 21, are in foster care.  Another large group, identified to be at great risk for abuse and neglect, receives help to keep them safe.  The Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services is responsible for these children.  To enrich their lives, The Fund for Alexandria’s Child raises money to supplement public dollars.  Your contributions may be used for scouting activities and uniforms, class field trips, art lessons or special tutoring.  Without your help, the children will miss these rich experiences.

On June 19th 7:00 PM you can join The Fund for Alexandria’s Child and spend A Night Among the Stars at the Fostering the Future Gala at the Carlyle Club , 411 John Carlyle Street. Guests will walk the red carpet, greet the paparazzi, and dance with famous Hollywood personalities to the music of the Tower House Band . Special Stars of Honor will be Alexandria foster parents and major sponsors of the evening’s event.
