Alexandria Police Investigating Robbery of M&T Bank Branch

An undisclosed amount of currency was taken in the early Saturday afternoon robbery in South Old Town.

Alexandria police are investigating a robbery that occurred early Saturday afternoon at the M&T Bank branch in the 800 block of S. Washington Street.

According to police spokesperson Crystal Nosal, there was no weapon in the incident and no injuries. An undisclosed amount of currency was taken, Nosal said.

Police had a segment of Green Street cordoned off to investigate the incident.

seems like old town has more than it's share of bank robberies. It appears to me that OT is being targeted due to it's close proximity to the beltway and the Wilson Bridge.

Create more higher paying jobs and lower the damm rents. Then people wont have to rob a bank to make ends meet or put food on the table.
