Alexandria police have arrested a city resident in connection to the robbery of a U.S. postal carrier in Old Town.
On Jan. 15, three masked men brandished a firearm at a postal carrier in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street and robbed him of his cell phone, according to police.
In cooperation with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Alexandria police arrested 20-year-old city resident Gary Love III on Monday in relation to the incident and charged him with robbery. He is being held without bond.
Alexandria Police Department spokesperson Crystal Nosal said the incident is not connected with the Jan. 11 robbery of the U.S. post office on Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray. The suspects in the separate incidents fit different descriptions, Nosal said.
Anyone with information about either robbery is urged to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703-746-6711.
