Alexandria Police Make Arrest in Lee Center Burglary

Jamar Hunter, 22, of Washington, D.C. was arrested Nov. 26.

Alexandria police on Friday announced the Nov. 26 arrest of DC resident Jamar Hunter in relation to a burglary at the Lee Center on Jefferson Street.

Hunter was charged with one count of burglary and two counts of destruction of property.

Over Labor Day weekend, the Alexandria Soccer Association office inside the Lee Center was burglarized and money was stolen following a fundraiser.

Money was reported stolen from Lee Center offices on Oct. 19 and Nov. 22 following similar fundraisers.

Hunter, 22, was identified after the third burglary and was arrested Nov. 26. He was extradited to Alexandria on Dec. 3 and released on $5,000 bond. Other charges are pending, police said.
